The New Pilbara 2 Economic Development Conference, Tuesday 29th August 2017

The Pilbara Regional Chambers of Commerce will again be hosting the Pilbara Economic Development Conference, on Tuesday August 29, 2017 in Perth. The 2017 New Pilbara Economic Development Conference builds on the success of the inaugural conference held in 2016 attracting almost 400 delegates.

Aptly themed “The New Pilbara”, the conference will attract key community and business stakeholders to engage in a timely discussion about the diversification of the Pilbara’s economic base and highlight emerging industries that have the potential to drive sustained economic growth across the Pilbara region.

Lead & Adapt Workshop will be held Tuesday 10th October 2017, at the Main Function Room, Karratha Leisureplex.

Join us for a half day conference that builds resilience and increases capability in leaders.  Whether you're an established or aspiring leader or businessperson after a good dose of inspiration, this event gives you the tools to lead, adapt, build resilience and thrive through difficult times.

Speakers at this year's event include:

Brant Garvey:  Australian leg amputee paratriathlete, representing Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. At the age of 28, he run for the first time using a prosthetic leg in the HBF Run for a Reason over 12km.  In 2016, he was awarded the Western Australian Institute of Sport Personal Excellence Award for his efforts in setting up and flourishing personal branding business, titled noXcuses.

Mike House:  Mike house has spent the best part of half of a century exploring the mysteries of the survivalist mind - he was doing it before he knew it.  Over the past 15 years Mike has been an avid instructor and student of survival, leadership and change process.  Don't be content to merely survive - Mike can show you how to thrive.

Sally Carbon:  Sally represented Australia from 1987 until 1994 in field hockey.  Sally has 2 areas of study, being physical education and strategic marketing.  She has written for newspapers; is a radio host; and a high level Communitations & Marketing Manager.  Consults in strategic marketing and has published 4 childrens books.  Also awarded an Order of Australia (OAM) for Services to Sport.
