AFD Pty Ltd has been commissioned by the City of Karratha to undertake an important study into the current state of freight and logistics inwards to and outwards from the Pilbara region.

The study is designed to be practical tool to assist the knowledge and guidance of government and industry with respect to current freight logistics barriers and constraints as well as identifying opportunities for improvement and better productivity for the entire sector.

The study covers air, rail, sea and air freight. Opportunities for logistics improvements into Karratha could include direct sea freight liner service links to Asia from Dampier and direct air freight links from Karratha to Asia.

The study survey does not include export commodities or oil and gas exports but focusses on the general and construction freight, fuel, consumables, materials, equipment, machines and vehicles brought into the Pilbara to support: townships and town businesses, mines and mining exporters, oil and gas producers, industrial plants, government businesses, utility providers and pastoralists.

The study also details general freight, livestock, equipment, vehicles and materials or goods, including recyclables, brought out of the Pilbara. We are interested in both private and public sector business feedback.

Each of you are unique industry participants with an important role and experience of the Pilbara region.

If you could take 5 to 10 minutes to complete the survey by clicking on the link below you can provide critical information that will help build our aggregate data and greatly improve the outcome of the study. We thank all participants for their kind assistance.
