businesses and increasing their market share (business, government, and consumer purchases)
relative to non-locally owned businesses.

Why is this important to our community?

Buy local campaigns or local branding increases awareness about the individual people behind local
brands. This can boost local consumer spending and strengthens our local community culture.
When we get to know and support people in our local business community, our local economy

Several studies have shown that money spent at a locally owned business stays in the local economy and continues to strengthen the economic base of the community.

Why ‘Try Local’ and not ‘Buy or Shop Local’?

The KDCCI ‘Try Local’ Campaign acknowledges that the City of Karratha may not have the product or service a consumer desires. All we ask at the KDCCI is that consumers ‘Try Local’ first.

Whether it be expert knowledge about products and services that can handle the Pilbara elements,
years of local experience and expertise, the ability to respond quickly to product or service faults,
tailoring products or services, or great customer service – we believe our local businesses deserve our support.
